Erectile Discomfort

Whenever I get an erection I suffer discomfort.  At one time my doctor told me that I had a slightly enlarged prostate but it was nothing to worry about.  Now it has gotten to the point that I can't get an erection for fear of the discomfort associated with it.  What should I do?

I am a 59 year old male. I have been told my PSA is 6.9. I have soreness on the head of my penis during erection. My Prostate is enlarged which I know is common as you get older. Will Flo-max help to resolve some of this? I know I need to see an Urologist, but I just don't have the funds. I have no insurance. I had this done through our community Health Department.

Hi,

Could you please provide details on the kind of discomfort that you experience on developing an erection?

Any pain during or after ejaculation can be indicative of prostate-related conditions.

If you have an enlarged prostate, it will be possible to manage the resultant pain with prostate-specific medication.

You will need to consult a urologist to identify the cause of the prostate enlargement and to ascertain whether the erectile discomfort is related to it.

Meanwhile, you can avoid common prostate irritants, such as caffeine, alcohol, spicy foods, citrus fruits, etc.

Do keep us posted on your doubts and progress.
Regards
