Erection problem

by Mr_P, Dec 22, 2008 09:31PM
Although my penis is about average length(a little over 6 inches)for some reason I have been self concsious about the size. Somehow I started this bad habit of pulling it in some kind of effort to make it bigger. It never seemed to work but I kept doing it apparently even unconsciously. Sometime last week I did it after getting back from the gym and I just stretched it too far and I could tell something happened. I must have torn a ligiment or something in it. It was kind of painful although it hasn't been too bad. The good news is that it doesn't hurt when I urinate or anything like that and there is no constant pain. The bad news is that I definitely notice a difference when I masturbate. My erection is not as solid as it used to be and it takes longer and more effort to get an erection. It also feels different during orgasm. As soon as I am done it shrinks back real fast. It never use to do any of these things and I never had any of these problems before. I know I pulled something other than just my penis. I was foolish enough to keep doing this stretch thing and now I have to pay the price for my juvenile habit. I don't feel the penis itself is broken as it doesn't seem to be misshapen or anything. I read that this kind of thing can turn into Prosier's disease(or whatever it's called)in which the penis becomes misshapen. I don't think viagra could help. I believe there is probably some kind of test that could be done. I know I need to have this checked out. Should I go to a urologist? What can I expect? Any advice is appreciated. Thanks.

Hi,
How are you? Erectile dysfunction (ED) is the inability of a man to maintain a firm erection long enough to have sex. Although erectile dysfunction is more common in older men, this common problem can occur at any age. Male sexual arousal is a complex process involving the brain, hormones, emotions, nerves, muscles and blood vessels. If something affects any of these systems or the delicate balance among them, erectile dysfunction can result.

I think you have a penile fracture, which is causing erectile dysfunction, but this cannot be confirmed without physical examination by a urologist. Ultrasonography, cavernosometry, cavernosography and neurological evaluation can help in making diagnosis.
Consult a urologist for further assistance.
Best.
