Erection

by Mattry, Mar 12, 2004 12:00AM
I am 33 years old and have never had an erection problem. I had an erection three days ago during intercourse with my fiance. I had no problems and have never had one with her. Last night, I had an erection during foreplay then it went away. I had problems trying to get an erection after that. I tried to get myself arroused through the next day and could not get a complete erection only a partial one. I ejaculated both times while attemption to get a full erection to see what was wrong with me. I was experiencing a very bad head cold and was taking Zicam for treatment at the time. I work a lot too. Could this be a one time thing? I have also strained a testicle over a few weeks ago getting into my truck. Would that be the cause, or would the cold/stress have something to do with it? Should I ride the storm out to see when the cold goes away?
After the evening when my erection went away, I woke with a full hard erection, later that day is when I tried to get myself aroused twice and was unable to obtain a full erection again. Am I over worrying? Help!

Stress can certainly affect the quality of the erection.  Organic causes can include a low testosterone level, or various metabolic diseases including diabetes.

I would suggest an examination by your physician to evaluate pulses to ensure it is not a bloody supply problem.  A total testosterone level should be obtained as well as a test for diabetes.

If these tests are negative, discussion of whether Viagra can be considered.  If stress is determined to play a role in your symptoms this should be appropriately addressed.

Followup with your personal physician is essential.
