Extra drops inside after urination.

by giraffe7983, Dec 06, 2005 12:00AM
I am a 28 year old male and after I urinate, I have a few drops left. My stream is strong and straight, but every so often I need to shake more to get the drops to come out or push under my scrotum to make the last drops fall out.

I read on the internet about a urethral stricture. I don't drip after I use the restroom. I just to make sure I shook it well enough or pressed the urethral tube. Since it hasn't gotten worse since it started, should I get it checked out? Thanks for your help.

Signed,

Very Concerned

I would have it evaluated by a urologist.

Anatomical conditions like a urethral stricture or polyp are possible.  Prostate enlargement can also lead to the symptoms.

You can consider a cystoscopy to evaluate for stricture.  A digital rectal exam can evaluate the size of the prostate.

I would also obtain urine samples to rule out infection.

These options can be discussed with your personal physician.

Followup with your personal physician is essential.
