Fish Tests

My husbands urologist said that his Fishe test came back with abnormal DNA.  What is that a possible indicator of?  he is scheduled for other tests.  I want someone to tell me wht they are looking for.

I am not a doctor, but had a couple of bladder tumors removed a few years ago. Since then, at my check-ups my urologist sends a urine sample out for the FISH(“fluorescent in situ hybridization”) test. This tests for, as you said, abnormal DNA, which MAY indicate the presence of cancer. There must have been other symptoms, such as blood in the urine, which caused the urologist to order the exam. The doctor may now want to do a CT scan and/or cystoscope to nail down the cause.

Good luck.
