Frequent Urination

okay will try and keep this short :)

7 months ago i had unprotected sex, 3 and a half months later i got frequent urination and a stinging feeling in my penis

went to GP...got checked for UTIs and nothing, blood test came back slightly abnormal kidneys and i had high level of creatinine which i think is due to my on/off high protein diet over the past few years, anyway i feel they completely sent me down the wrong path of seeing a kidney specialist, had the ultrasound which was fine and basically told me to cut down on protein and water intake (load of rubbish in my eyes this was lol)

anyway so on november 19th tested positive for chlamydia, had 1g of azithro 4 tablets taken at once, next few hours and couple of days i felt good like i was getting back to normal, then after a few days the frequent urination started to kick in again but it wasnt as strong as before and i thought well whats going on.. i was told it could take a couple of weeks to settle down,i waited nothing happened.

went to GUM clinic on 3rd december, checkup for hiv/syph n all that what have ya,NEGATIVE.
he noticed discharge and then took some swabs and informed me there were traces of NSU/URETHRITIS and gave me 5 days worth of Metronidazole and 1g of zithro and 250mg zithro each day for 4 days.. felt a bit relief from this but stil had the frequent urination coming on a bit but not as strong as before and not as often as before.

clinic told me to go back in 4 weeks if i still had symptoms, anyway i was still getting symptoms enough to make me feel uncomfortable, went back and did a urine sample, they checked urine there and then, nothing found, sent it off to test for UTIs and chlamydia and both came back  NEGATIVE and he examined me and took swabs to check for urethritis and said it was  CLEAR, was then told he feels this is something now that will go in its own time and urethritis can take time to go....

i went to my gp againa nd was prescribed with 5 days worth of metronidazole again, in my 3rd day now and just feels like its only 75 % gone and it hasnt fully left me system yet :(

so questions :)

will this go on its own now?
is there anything else in my body that is stopping this from flushing out my system?
is it possible some bacteria is there?
do i need different antibiotics to help this go?

many thanks in advance for any answers :)

hi many thanks for your response :)

however i feel i am diagnosing myself lol

i think i know what is giving me the issues now
ive recently been through a bout of chlamydia/NSU which i have been retested for and gone

but after being on another healthboard i seen a post where a person had the exact same symptoms as me, irritation in the urethra, frequent urination and they had every test done possible in 1 year and still no answer, basically having UTI symptoms but never is a UTI infection found, it turned out she tested positive for UREAPLASMA bacteria, 3 weeks course of antibiotics (the ones shes had i havent) and she was fine and has been fine ever since.

ive been reading up a lot on this and speaking to people who have had it and they experience the exact same problems as myself and a lot of other posts i have read a few people tell them to get tested for this and urethritis is a cause of this ureaplasma which is an infection.

anyway back to the docs and i'll be demanding i be test for this as i firmly believe this is what i have as the only symptoms i have are in my urethra

i really appreciate the answer though !

Have you tried the old remedy of unpasterised cranberrie juice? if you can get that one or better quality one if not ie not full of sugar/crap.that helps alot.as you find with taking lots of pills etc that you remove one bacteria and another thinks ha lets move house to here as no ones living here.another good thing to try is plenty of natural live yougurt which gives you back some essential bacteria.
The trouble with the male waterworks is that it is so far up in body unlike female which is at front/just above vagina so short travel.
A friend had problem so have this on first hand info that alot of quacks give males a short dose of meds which is ok for females ie 3 day ish? but males need sometimes 10 day plus and repeats to deal with it.
Before someone says about not sticking it into dodgey holes? you can get chlamydia without sex as it's a bacteria like thrush.alot of which is always present in your body. but the other things keep it in check so don't become a problem if your well!
It's always about balance.
I would also get them to check to see what you are defecient in i'e vit's/minerals?
As an example! if you intake large quantity of calcium & little magnisium you will become mag def.As they are paired elements!
I would leave the high protein diet well alone as too much will give you kidney problems.
I was a coach/racing cyclist/and did plenty of weight work so did ultimate nuit's studies

just to update if anyone reads this

i have been to see my specialist and he is now testing my urine for urea bacteria? given that ive had urethritis is it possible i am still getting the symptoms?

when he got the 2 urine bottles one definitly had urea on it and he said he needed another for NSU

and also said its possible i could have a UTI now so i assume hes checking for those.
