Frequent urinating and tired

Hi-

Little background, I had a fear that I contracted some STD for french kissing a stranger,so went to see family practicioner doctor , we did go through the entire STD panel blood test and all results came back as negative.

He tested my urine too and found normal, then he suggested me CIPRO 500mg for 2times for 6 day, even then frequent of urination didn't stop then, he advised me to take Doxycycline 100 mg for 2times for 7 days.

Its been three days after I completed my course of Doxycycline and still I feel tired and feverish, also my face is itchy on cheek and around my lips, mild headache, pain in thighs and some times my testicles pain.

I have an appointment with urologisit this friday.

It will be a great help if you can advise me what it is? based on your experience.

IF you need more info,I have posted the same in the STD forum as well.

Thanks!
Sam.

Hi Sam,

If you have the reports of the CBC that was done for you could you please post them here?

If you have not had a CBC done yet, please have it done.

This is to determine changes in the blood values that will indicate the cause of the problem.

The fact that your symptoms are persisting despite no sign of STD or infection in urine is a little worrying. Simpler possibilities include nonspecific urethritis which is usually identified in sexually active men in the absence of gonorrhea or chlamydia infection.

A course of antibiotics has been known to treat this condition effectively.

You can also start taking mega doses of vitamin C as this will boost your immunity and destroy infective organisms in urine.

Do keep me posted.

Thanks a lot for your response.

I did consulted Urologist and he told me to get my semen cultured done, results for the same came back negative, was also confirmed that there is no UTI by urine test.

My kidney, liver test were negative and also they tested to see prostate problem by putting there finger behind and confirmed I don't have prostate problem.I have one more appointment in the first week of october with the Urologist, he advise me to get my urine test one more time one week before appointment.

But, till today I still have urge to urinate and sore in thighs and legs due to frequent unriating also I feel tired, not healthy as usual.

From your experience, can you please advise me what is going on with me?

Thanks a million in advance.

Hi,

French kissing will cause transmission of infections in the oral cavity (mouth, throat, tongue). Oral sex can cause transmission of sexual infections to the genital organs.

Infections of the prostate, or even abacterial inflammation of the prostate, can cause alteration in normal body function, including frequency in urination, pain during urination or ejaculation, pain in testicles and penis, etc.

Treatment for prostatitis will need to be continued for a minimum of 15-21 days and sometimes even longer. This is because of the poor permeability of the prostate gland to antibiotics.

Prostate examination is done by DRE and involves palpation to check whether the gland is enlarged. Further tests involve checking for infection in the prostate fluid and the prostate. A urine sample collected right after ejaculation can also pick up infections in the prostate.

The itching may be due to a reaction to the antibiotics you have been on and will probably subside if you discontinue the doxycycline. However, discuss any plans of altering the duration of the course of antibiotics with the prescribing doctor.

You will need to keep fluid intake over 2000 ml and avoid caffeine, alcohol, and other prostate irritants. Additionally, avoid sitting for prolonged periods of time or on inadequately padded surfaces.

Do keep us posted on your doubts and progress.
