My husband began urinating frequently during the night last night and now is going about every 20 to 30 minutes.  What can be done?

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hi

Did this happen suddenly or has this been present for quite some time already?

Frequent urination may be associated with several things: A neurologic problem, hormonal disorders, pituitary gland problems, a urinary tract infection, increase intake of fluids and certain medications. Certain tests may need to be done to have these differentials excluded. A baseline urinalysis and urine culture, urodynamic studies, and CT scan of the kidney, ureter and bladder may help.

I suggest a consult with a urologist to at least rule out an underlying urinary tract infection. If results are normal, then a neurologic or hormonal factor need to be considered.
