HIGH CREATINE LEVEL

MY SON IS POST RENAL TRANSPLANTED 15 YEARS BACK, HE WAS DOING WELL, SUDDENLY HE IS HAVING HIGH CREATINE LEVEL 7.7, HIS INTAKE AND URINE IS ALL NORMAL, IS THERE ANY WAY TO REDUCE THRU DIET WITHOUT DIALSIS, PLEASE SUGGEST ME

Hi,
      Thanks for writing in. Blood creatinine level indicates how well the kidney is working. The level of creatinine can increase due to infections, muscle destruction and kidney failure.
As, your son’s creatinine level is very high he needs maintenance dialysis initially to cope with this situation. Along with this diet with minimal protein and medication are important to treat this condition.
Consult a urologist for further assistance.
