Help my man

Due to me being in hospital and on a cathter my man had sex with me and he ended up with yeast.  He has to take male jock itch cream and I have yeast.  Now he says he has trouble urinating his anus and penis feels numb.  I am going to bring him to a urologist but how can all this happen from a jock itch.  When he first got it, he scrated himself so much he broke out on his penis, which I took him back to the Dr for.  The top of his peis is red and looks swollen.  This ahs been going on for three weeks, and today he complained about the numbness and trouble urinating.  Help

Hey He went to the hospital and had everything checked, his kidneys etc.  The Drs said they didn't know what it was.  They had never heard of this before and it was most likely the end of the yeast working its way out.  I am going to see a gyn this week.  I have no symptoms.  They also said if he gets worse or does not get better he is to see a urologist.  But, he has no discharge and nothing wrong with his bladder or kidneys.  Since the dr said this now he won't drink the cranberry evry day like he was doing.  Also, he drinks vodka every day.  He's stubborn.  The Dr said he cd have sex, so I stuck the yeast cream up me and put on him and we had it.  I wish I knew what is going on.  Billy
Today I will force cranberry juice on him.  That cleans out his kidneys bladder liver anything he's got.  And, Im doing much better.  I had a severe head injury, but my dizziness is going away.  I was in intensive care for 5 days.  I walked up the street all alone yesterday for the first time since my accident.  We will get over all this.  Happy New Year to all of you!!

Hi,

First of, I hope that you have had a relatively good Christmas given the problems that you have experienced.

Yeast infections in males usualy don't cause urination problems. If there is a UTI involved as well, than the urge to urinate is likely and it can make urination difficult.

Cranberry juice is a good things to keep the PH levels in the bladder.

Only one of you needs tohave a yeast infection to easily transfer it back to your partner. For this it is neccessary for both to be on treatment at the same time. Sexual intercourse during this time is not a good idea.

It is best that both of you are checked by a doctor. They should be able to get a culture for both of you to see if this indeed is candida.

I hope that you can get checked out soon, as I know how much of a problem that this can be. Also the sooner  this is controled the easier it is to treat it in a case of yeast. Yeast thrives in warm moist conditions.
In the case where the male is not circumcised it is much easier for yeast to grow. I however want to state that circumcision cannot prevent a male from getting yeast infections.

If you have been on antibiotics while in the hospital, the it is likely that you had a yeast infection. From all the times that I was on antibiotics, there were many times that I ended up with a yeast infection eventhough I was not sexualy active during that period. As an exemple, I have had a catheter in since the beginning of March, and have had yeast at least once. It is impossible for a male to engage in intercourse while being catherized.

I wish both of you a speedy recovery.

God bless,

Ron

Thank-you both for your comments.  They took me off the cathter when I lrft the hospital.  They said I wd feel a little uncomfortable up there for a few days.  They didn't say not to have sex.  I was very ill and it was a real close call.  My man was with me 20 hours a day.  As soon as we got home we had sex.  I felt a bladder burning after the cather came out, and a little discomfort when having sex, but that all went away after a few days, which we had sex in.  He got sore and red so I took him to a womanens clinic which they treated him  and me for yeast though I had no symptomes, till a week later.  He got worse, instead of better.  I'm fine.  Im taking monistata now.  But then he told me about he can't pee.  So yesterday I had him on cranberry juice, the natural one from the health food store.  He drank half a bottle yesterday and peed alot, normally w/o hesitation or problems.  I am talikg him to a clinic on Monday, for this is Xmas week, and insisting on what Dr. Veena siad we need.  He doesnt have insurance and I do.  So, it has to be a sliding scale clinic and it may take them a while to get him a urologist appt.  but, i am keeping him on the natural cranberry till he gets in.  it sounds like a UTI now, which makes sense, cus my bladder those furst few days was agitated.  Oh God we need this for Christmas?  But, I am lucky a very lucky woman.  now, I must take care of him. like he takes care of me.  Thank-you and keep the suggestions coming.  Billy 455

Hi,

From what I understand is the you allready had a yeast infection while in the hospital while you had a catheter in. I'm not sure as to how you can have intercourse while having the catheter in. However my wife and I have had several yeast infection, from having been on antibiotics. The antibiotics kill the needed bacteria in the digestic tract.

It is important that both you and your husband use something to clear up the yeast infections. Somthing like Canesten. If your husband is not circumcised than he will need to apply the cream with the foreskin retracted and cover the glans and as much of the penis as possible, return the foreskin over the glans and apply more cream to the outer side of his foreskin also covering the shaft of the penis to the scrotum.

It is important that both of you continue to use the Canesten untill you are sure that both of you no longer have a yeast infection. Do not engage in intercourse during this time as it will only re infect you.

In the case of a yeast infection there might be an STD to cause it, but it is possible to come down with a yeast infection after having been on antibiotics for an extended period and therefore it might not be due to an STD.

It would also be use full to eat yogurt or to take an acidophelus suppliment to restore the needed bacteria needed by the digestive system. It can be very hard to get rid of a yeast infection. It is best to see your doctor to determine if both of you indeed have a yeast infection.

I currently have had a catheter in since the beginning of March 2008, Over this time I have had at least three UTI, requiring the need of antibiotics.
During this time I have had one case of yeast. I have not been alboe to have intercourse with my wife during this time so I know from this that it is possible for a male to get yeast infections this way. I also have had occasions where I had a yeast infection while my wife did not. I can assure you that my yeast infections were not caused by sexual activity, since I also have erectile dysfuntion.

Please see your doctor to get the right diagnosis?

God bless,

Ron

Hi,
How are you? I think it is some STD (most commonly candida albicans), that is causing these symptoms. Any infection if not treated appropriately can pass to the adjacent regions of the body. So the infection in your partner has entered in to the urinary tract, which is manifesting with itching, burning micturition and numbness in the penis with rash and swelling.

It is important to get an opinion from a urologist. Prompt evaluation and initiation of treatment is necessary to prevent further progress of infection in the urinary tract.
I would suggest that you get a urine analysis with culture and STD panel done for your partner and take treatment according to the results.
Best.
