Dear Daytec,
There are many individuals who have one testicle after removal of the other testicle for testicular cancer, and are able to have children and lead normal lives.
It sounds like to me that you may have an undescended testicle or a high riding testicle that you cannot feel, or may have had an orchiectomy (surgical removal of the testicle) at an early age that you don’t remember and/or was not told about.  Another possibility is atrophy (degeneration) of a testicle if you have had prior injury or an operation in the past that may have affected the blood supply to the testicle.  The only way to find out is to start asking your parents who would know whether you were taken to the operating room or not in the past (for a hernia repair, or torsion of the testicle for example).  Some operations are performed through a scrotal approach, and after the skin heals over the scrotum , there is no identifiable scar that one may notice.
The next and most important step is seeing your personal physician or a urologist.  Cryptorchidism (undescended testicle) is a well known entity and associated with development of cancer in the undescended testicle.  Therefore it’s imperative to find out whether you have an undescended testicle somewhere in your body (groin, or abdomen ?).  This can be achieved with an ultrasound examination which has to be ordered by your physician who can make further recommendations based on the findings.
Although testicular implants are available, they may be hard to find or you may have a hard time convincing a urologist to use because of the issues regarding silicone implants.  However, there are implants available which are made out of other material.  At this point, you need to be evaluated first by a urologist or your personal physician, and I urge that you do so ASAP.  Wish you the best.
