Dear Kellie,
Testicular trauma sometimes leads to bleeding. This blood accumulates around the testicle and within the scrotum itself. As a result, there will be scrotal swelling and testicular pain. Often this is a self-limiting problem, which resolves overtime by itself. However, this problem should be evaluated by a urologist to assure that there is no testicular tear or ongoing bleeding, and to make certain that no intervention is necessary. Furthermore, complaints of stomach or abdominal pain should be evaluated as well, since your husband may have sustained some abdominal injury in addition to the testicular injury. He should see a physician, and specifically a urologist, as soon as possible.
