I have one I get from Pulmolab.  It is a 10 way generic and is the same test as my uro's office.  These cost around $30 for 100 strips.  I like that they treat more then just for nitrites but also blood, protein, pH, WBC etc which can also be a sign of infection esp.
if it is not a urea splitting organism

I also have chronic uti's and IC so have to keep them on hand.  I can't tell if it is a flare or
an infection often!

Good luck!

Hello. I'm no medical professional, but I've lived with chronic UTIs all my life, so here's my take: They all work pretty much by the same means as far as I can tell. Personally, I use the Azo (they're cheap and easy to understand). If you have ANY doubts about your results, wait a bit and try again, following all directions to the letter.

Make sure to follow up with your doctor if your results indicate infection.

I am looking for information on the accuracy of home tests for bladder infections not pregnancy.

Hello,
Most chemical tests for pregnancy look for the presence of the beta subunit of hCG or human chorionic gonadotropin in the urine. hCG can be detected in urine after implantation of zygote in the wall of the uterus formed by the union of the sperm & the ovum, which occurs six to twelve days after fertilization.
Ideally urine for pregnancy test should be done after 1 week of your missed periods date. Alternately, you can also use aimstrip urine for pregnancy test which is highly sensitive and can detect pregnancy after 10-12 days of conception.
I sincerely hope that helps. Take care.
