Hyper Sensitive Glans/Corona Mystery

I'm 20 years old and circumcised.  About 5 weeks ago, for no apparent reason, I began to experience an immediate pain all over the glans and corona areas of my penis.  My glans and corona feel raw and very painful.  They are so sensitive that it hurts to the slightest touch.  I can't even walk or wear pants without keeping a sock in my briefs to limit the movement of my penis.  It isn't really even discolored (maybe a little redness on the corona) and there is no sign of a rash.  It just feels very very raw and painful.

Initially, I thought it might have been caused by chafing from my pants or going to the gym.  But I've always worn pants (obviously) and I had gone to the gym many times before. Plus, since the pain has lasted so long I figured these weren't factors.

I've been to various doctors who don't know what to do and I'm beginning to worry no one will know what it is.  I got tested for stds and they're negative.  One doctor told me to treat it as a yeast infection and I treated it with a topical anti-fungal for a week.  Didn't work at all.  Another doctor told me to treat it like eczema and treat it with vaseline for a week, but that didn't work either.  I've tried lotions (which hurt more) and other things but nothing is working.  Pain is the same and sensitivity is the same.

There is no discoloration and no overall difference in any other aspects of my penis.  When I get an erection and have sex it is still sensitive.  I don't know what to do. I've had no previous history of penis disorders.  Please help!

Did you ever find a cause for this?

It's exactly what I'm experiencing. A swollen Corona and small spots that appear to be beneath the skin.

I had a swab test which showed Psudomonas bacteria, I've had all kinds of treatments. Cipro and anti fungal.

Nothing seems to be helping.

Any ideas?

Thanks doctornee.  Actually, I've already see that discussion posting.  I took it into account, but I don't think it's completely the same.  I have been circumcised my whole life and this pain happened all of a sudden.

Today, I was checking the glans and corona area again.  I noticed that while I had an erection, when the skin was stretched out more, I noticed now there are developing little 'skin tags' on the surface of the glans.  The glans has been kinda of 'cracky' lately and now there are skin tags growing on it.  It's getting gross.  I thought the cracky-ness was from dryness, but I've been keeping vaseline on it everyday.  So, I don't know what it is.

Also, all over the glans there is now a lot of visible bumps breaking through.  Like subcutaneous bumps.  Bumps under the skin that are popping up all over the glans.  It looks weird and now I'm worried I'll never be back to normal.

I just got tested for stds last week and the results were negative.

I really don't know what's going on.  It seems like everything is just getting worse and worse.  Please help!

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hi
Thanks for writing to the forum!
Hi
Thanks for writing to the forum!

There is definitely some medical problem that needs to be diagnosed. Please consult an urologist or venereologists. There is another discussion on Med Help which you can read: http://www.medhelp.org/forums/Dermatology/messages/32228.html

There are a few things you can try. First, just retract your foreskin and expose the glans to the air for a few minutes every day. This will make the sensitivity tolerable.
Hope this helps. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!
