I have some bumps on the shaft of my penis

by John__0__0, May 09, 1998 12:00AM
  They especialy stand out when I am errect. Some are underside of my glands and some are on the skin that covers my glands. I have never had sex.
  How can I send a picture of the phenomenon?

Dear John;
Thanks for your question.
We can not make diagnosis over the internet. Even though you could send us a picture we would not be able to feel the lesions to get their true character.  They could be pearly papules, sebaceous glands, hair follicles or maybe small inclusion cysts.   Since you “have never had sex”, we do not have to worry about STDs.
Odds are these lesion are benign and do not need treatment.  If they grow or change I would recommend seeing a doctor  for an exam.
More individualized care is available at the Henry Ford Hospital and its urban campuses by calling  (1-800 653-6568). We can also arrange local accommodations through this number if this is your need. Please bring any physicians’ notes and lab test results that you  may be able to obtain. These will help us greatly.
