INCONTINENCE OR NOT PLEASE?

I'm a 62 year old grandmother. I have 2 sons who are 38 and 35. I walk my doberman, Hunter for approximately 2 hours each day. Sometimes, he's let off his lead in an off-leash dog park & I walk there.

I find that when I return home, if I sit down, I start to urinate. It's becoming almost uncontrollable. Can you advise what is happening please? While walking or running, I don't have any problems at all.

Before & after childbirth, I did all the exercises given to me to strengthen the pelvic floor. I believe the muscles are still very strong.

Sincerely,
Julie

Hello and a tardy Welcome.

I haven't heard of those symptoms without others- meaning you have no issues running or walking. Does that also mean you don't have stress incontinence -  such as when you cough or sneeze do you have a dribble or small burst of urine?

Remember that not only were we suppose to do regular Kegel exercises Postpartum - they were to be made a lifelong habit.

I would consult my PCP and request a UA - just to be certain this isn't a symptom of a UTI. If that's normal than chat with your PCP or gynecologist. This may be nothing but your muscles losing some strength but please have it checked.

I wish you the best and hope you'll let us know how you are doing.

Take Care,
