Interesting site. I am not aware of controlled trials comparing directly injecting antibiotics into the prostate compared with oral antibiotics as well as IV antibiotics.
As I am not a urologist, I do not have any experience in this specific procedure. Typically chronic prostatitis is treated with oral or IV antibiotics, since it will obtain appropriate absorption by the prostate. I suspect that the reason it is not further practiced in the United States is because of the lack of controlled trials.
