Ok, so the story goes that I met a girl at a party and went home with her the same night. We had unprotected sex. The very next day I feel some pain in my penis and am very tired. It was a Saturday night, and I fell asleep at 8pm, not waking up until 10:30 the next day. This is not normal. Day 2: there are three small yellow stains in my underwear (briefs). However, this has not occured again and there is no discharge that I can tell (it is currently 5 days since intercourse). So, days 3 and 4 are much the same. I'll say that since the day after having sex with this girl there has been a sort of tingling at the tip of my penis. It was only substantially noticeable two days after intercourse. Also, since Saturday I have been fairly tired. Now, this could also be caused by the fact that I am getting 4.5 to 5 hours of sleep each night because of summer school. But I am used to going without sleep and it just seems a little different this time. Not just being tired, but slightly nausiated, not thinking as quickly as normal, etc. Now, I have not had any burning during urination at all. It feels perfectly normal. However, there is always that slight tingling feeling when I am sitting down and on the day 3, I had to go to the bathroom a lot. I've gotten used to that so I don't really have to go as much now. Now, I am not sure how to explain this, but I feel something different in my scrotum area. It is not painful, per se, but it is different and noticeable. Perhaps the harbingers of swelling, but I do not know. There are no bumps, sores, lesions, or discolorations on my penis (so far... hopefully it stays that way). I need to know what it is that I am experiencing, and whether it can be cured if it is, in fact, an STD. How many STDs are there that can cause these types of symptoms within a day or two of exposure to it? I don't have medical insurance being a broke college student, so I have been looking on the internet for incubation periods and such to see which, if any STDs start affecting you so soon after exposure. However, as luck would have it, I am finding that search task rather difficult. Not as many sites as I had hoped are showing that particular sort of information, which is why I opted to post my question here. I am trying to think if there are any other symptoms that I should... Oh wait, I just rememberd. Since last night (Day 4) I have had a very slightly sore throat. Right now it is not really sore, but I keep having to swallow. It really isn't that bad, I only really noticed it earlier today and then recalled last night I had swallowed and felt a little something, but thought nothing of it... Ok, well I am running out of room as well as information to share, so please help me if you can. I feel like an idiot for being stupid enough not to use a condom, and can only hope it is nothing serious, but I don't want to fool myself into false hope so I would appreciate whatever information you can give. Most common causes would include gonorrhea or chlamydia. Either can give a penile discharge. If it ascends up the GU tract, it can infect the prostate or epididymis and cause prostatitis or epididymitis. A sore throat can be indicative of gonorrhea.
Other STDs to consider would by syphillis or HIV. If there are no genital lesions, syphillis would be less likely.
As to the next steps - I would consider getting a urine test or urethral swab to look for gonorrhea or chlamydia. I would also suggest HIV tests.
Treatment would include two seperate antibiotics to empirically treat for each. If prostatitis is suspected, a rectal exam should be done. Epididymitis can be evaluated with the tests above as well as a scrotal ultrasound.
Followup with your personal physician is essential.
