Is "uterus didelphys" and bladder problems related???

Im 29 y/o and went to a gyn/ob doctor for chief c/o pain during intercourse and frequent UTI's. And was dx w/ uterus didelphys..BUT the doctor said my pain and frequent infections is NOT related to my dx...is it possible to have a malformed urinary tract since I have a malformed reproductive system??? are they related..I observed that my problems started after giving birth 4 years ago..I hope some can help me..! I was diagnosed with uterine didelphys at age12 im now 19. I also keep uti's all the time i have been to the emergency room multiple times for uti's and left lower quadrant abdominal pain. They always figure that i have a uti but never know why i have left lower abdominal pain. I personally get tired of being in pain all the time but luckily i have been referd to a urineologist and an obgyn. Due to my uti gotten so bad that i had blood in my urine. But i have a lot of questions about my problem. Can i get pregnant? Is their many medical problems that lead up to uterine didelphys? Can this damage the your fertility?  Please if you know any answers to these help. Thank you all so much.

i also have uterine didelphys and after having my 1st child i realized i had bladder problems, there should b some kind of study on this

I also have the same problem. From what I understood, these two systems develop together in the womb so typically if you have a malformation of the uterus, typically you will have a malformation of the kidneys or absence of a kidney in my case. Because I only have one kidney, I constantly have UTI's. You may even find that you also have only one kidney. Good luck.

Hi! I also have uterus didelphys. I too have pain durning intercourse. 3 months after I became sexually active I began to have chronic urinary tract infections. My doctor also said it was unrelated to my 2 reproductive systems. However, hearing that you have the same problem makes me question that... Many doctors have never seen or heard of uterus didelphys, in my experience.

Pain during intercourse is common in uterine didelphys. The development of urinary and genital tract is interdependent. Malformation of one can be associated with that of the other. Hence you must get an intravenous pyelography to see your urinary tract or an ultrasound or a MRI of abdomen and pelvis. Frequent infection can be due to malformation too.
