Jelly Like Sperm

When my husband ejaculates his sperm is liquid at first and then it turns to a jelly like substance.  It turns to a substance that looks like clumpy hair gel.  It also has a very strong smell.  Also, when he ejaculates - his sperm burns him and it also burns me.  Help!!

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hi,

Burning sensation on ejaculation could be a sign of infection. This may also be associated with burning sensation during urination, increased frequency of urination, pain or discomfort in the penis or the perineal region.

If there is an alteration in the color of the semen, such as yellow or green, it could be definitive for infection.

Change in consistency of semen may be innocuous or indicative of other problems.

You will need to consult your GP or urologist in this regard and may be required to undergo tests to detect STDs or UTI.

Meanwhile, do ensure that your fluid intake is high and hygiene is followed prior to and after sexual intercourse.

If the use of condoms is an option, please have protected sex until the cause is identified and resolved.

Do keep us posted on your doubts and progress.
Regards
