Kidney pain 9 month after pyeloplasty

My 17 year old son had a pyeloplasty for a narrowed ureter April 06. About 2 months ago the pain came back. Two weeks ago had a stent put in because kidney seemed a little enlarged. The doctor said evingthing looked fine when the stent was put in.
The stent is to be removed in a week. My son is still having a lot of kidney pain. Are we missing something? The doctor seems to be totaly dismisssing his pain.
