Large Mass on Right Testicle After Spermatocelectomy

I had a posterior spermatocelectomy on the rt testicle 5 days ago.  The majority of the scrotal swelling has subsidded but the right testicle appears to have a major (2 1/2 inches) mass attached to it below the testicle.  This is the side that the spermatocele was removed.  It is very painful when I am standing but has no pain at all when laying down or sitting (inclined).  Is this normal?
