Male yeast infection?

My wife has been getting constant monthly yeast infections. It comes as frequently as her period does and we already looked up fact that, that is not normal. Now every few month, I get yeast like symptoms. White/Yellow like puss on the head and around the penis and the constant itch. My wife doctor prescribed a stronger alternative to Monistate because monistat would work in discharginging the infection but it wouldnt prevent the next one from happening. She always suggested I take some and for us to use condoms for the next few months(which we did). For a good 2 months nothing showed up and we thought it was gone until this morning( 2 days after having unprotected sex) we both woke up to what seems like another yeast infection. Anyone have any ideas on what we can do?
