Meatus/Urethral opening swelling. One side.

Hello -- I would very much appreciate input from a professional.

One side of my meatus/urethral opening is swollen or scarred.  It is as if one side has a "lip" or ridge, where coloration is lighter and more pink.  There is a visible but subtle "line", where the seemingly new tissue has formed.  Often but not always, the left side of the meatus is almost inside out (sticking out significantly), and is further irritated by friction with underwear.  When the meatus is not irritated in this way, and the lip is not very pronounced, the meatus has a slight sideways "u-shape" when viewed from above -- as if the right side accommodates this growth on the left side.

I am really hoping that this is normal and benign.  Please help, as I am very concerned.

Thank you so, so much for your help.  I will certainly schedule with my GP or with a urologist if split stream and/or redness is evident.

It just seems as though the left side is growing toward the right -- the urethral opening is no longer straight, vertically.  There is indeed pain and inflammation when the "lip" on the left side rubs against underwear.  This skin or tissue is growing within where the urethra used to be and his formed a ridge.  I do not know why this is happening.

Thank you, again.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello,
The urethral meatus sounds normal but if there is any split stream of urine or any redness, pain then any benign urethral growth or uretritis should be ruled out.

I suggest you to consult a urologist and get it evaluated in that case.
It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
