Would you recommend using Terazosin without a through urological workup to treat frequent urination at night time for a 58 y/o white male?  Diabetes and other prostate problems have been ruled out.

Hi,

Terazosin is an alpha blocker that specifically works on alpha receptors to reduce overactivity of an enlarged prostate. It is also effective in the treatment of hypertension and is considered appropriate for the treatment of individuals with both BPH and hypertension.

If a prostate exam revealed an enlarged prostate, then prescription of terazosin would be correct.

Has there been any improvement in symptoms?

Do keep us posted on your doubts and progress.
