Medicine induced sexual dysfunction

Hi Doctor... You have to help me here...In the beginning of this year my doctor gave me Buspar which is usually prescribed for generalised aniexty disorder. anyway as most of the pshychatric drugs are somehow related with sexual problems so i was a little hesitant to take it,until he asuured me that it was sexual side effects free.Later on in january i started taking this medicinefor two weeks and i noticed that i had a decreased libido so i stopped taking it and everything came back to normal within two day7s or so.My doctor was dissapointed at this and asked me two take it again and atleast take it for a two months so i did.
now the problem i am facing after using it for two months is that my libido or sexual desire is almost diminshed, retarded ejaculation, slow or no orgasm, very low semen in ejaculation, atrophied testicles and even erectile dysfunction. i dont know why is ths happening and why everything is not comeing back to normal as my doc said everything would come back to normal within a week and its been almost two months now and still my sexual fucntioning is not back to normal. just to rule out other possibilities i got my prolactin and thyroid hormones checked and they were all normal.I'm sure that this medicine is the cause otherwise i'm just 24 and hormone deficieny is least possible.
anyway just to stimulate my sexual desires i took some herbal medicines like ginko biloboa and ginseng but they didn't help.then i even used clomiphene citrate twice a day for a week to help stimulte my sexual funtion but it didn't help either.now my question is what therapy or medicine do you suggest to restore my sexual abilities(offcourse i'll get it with a doctors prescription).my second question. if my sexual fuctionings come back to normal would the graph of my libido and sperm count be the same as before or would it be decreased.
thank you and any suggestion from you would greatly benefit me.

Hello - thanks for asking your question.

According to my drug database, sexual dysfunction is not part the side effect profile of Buspar.  Here is a quote:
"ADVERSE REACTIONS >10%: Central nervous system: Dizziness

1% to 10%: Central nervous system: Drowsiness, EPS, serotonin syndrome, confusion, nervousness, lightheadedness, excitement, anger, hostility, headache
Dermatologic: Rash
Gastrointestinal: Diarrhea, nausea
Neuromuscular & skeletal: Muscle weakness, numbness, paresthesia, incoordination, tremor
Ocular: Blurred vision, tunnel vision
Miscellaneous: Diaphoresis, allergic reactions"

However, that's not to say that it can't happen.  If you are having decreased libido, I would suggest obtaining some blood levels including a testosterone, prolactin, FSH, LH, and thyroid levels.  Treatment would depend if there was any abnormality in these hormone levels.

There is no consensus data that ginseng or ginko help in decreased libido.  There may be small studies or anecdotes, but there are no large physician-reviewed data that suggest benefit.

If you may want to obtain the opinion of a urologist or endocrinologist for further evaluation.

Followup with your personal physician is essential.
