Microscopic Hematuria with pain

Hello.  I know that you can only give advice and not diagnose.  I am so sick and tired of dealing with pain and not knowing what is wrong with me.  About 5 weeks ago I thought I had a uti, but thought that it was odd to not have the burning during urination.  The pain is sometimes on the right lower abdomen area or in the middle of the abdoment right above pubic bone.  My bladder hurts when pressure is put on it, and continues to throb afterwards.  The pain gets worse throughout the day, and is a moderate kind of pain, and bothers me bad at nightime.  I tested negative for uti, and was still given an antibiotic just in case as a precautionary.  Of course I was back in just a few days later, and sent for a ct scan which came back negative for tumors on the kidneys and stones.  My pap came back negative also.  I was sent to a urologist in which he had me get an ivp test in which I'm not sure how that came out but will find out the 29th of this month.  My bladder does hurt after I urinate.  I also went to a my gynecologist and she thinks its also my bladder because of the discomfort after pressing on it,  I also will have a cystoscopy procedure done the 29th also.  Blood has been found in my urine at every appointment, and it only worries me because of the pain not going away.  Thanks for your time.

Hi.  I am definitely going to have my hematuria assessed especially since I am in pain and it's so uncomfortable at times that I give in and take a Vicodin.   I haven't had any history of surgery or instrumentation before.  I also haven't had any gynecological problems that required instrumentation.  I have had a number of utis in the past 18 years, and some are uti's and others were negative for utis.  My water consumption has not been the best over the years, but I have gotten much better the past couple of years.  Another thing I wanted to mention that I have a problem with is when I sneeze, laugh, cough or exercise I leak urine.  I noticed this last year.  Thanks and I hope my answers are making sense to you because I feel so confused and have a hard time explaining my symptoms.

Hi,

I understand how hard this is . I have mentioned in your other post how hematuria needs to be assessed. I know that this may be frustrating but UTI seems to recur and there are patients who experience this several times in a year.Have you had any history of surgery or instrumentation before? Any gynecologic problems that required instrumentation?

Also, you have mentioned that the UTI usually occurs during the summers ( is this correct)? How is your water intake? Do you take enough fluid everyday?

Thanks so much for getting back with me.  It's just nice to be able to have someone listen.  I have had to get up in the middle of the night around 3 to 4 times, but it's not all the time.  I am not diabetic nor do I have hypertension, and my blood pressure runs usually around 110/80.  I have in the past two years been having a couple urinalysis in which the one time it came back positive for a uti, and they gave me a second antibiotic in which worked.  Then I went a year later and was complainig of a urinary tract infection, but once again I did not have the burning while urinating, but had a throbbing pain which was very similar to a uti.  The uti came back negative and my pain eventually went away and I just let it go.  But it always seems as summers nears that I have this same pain which is just like a uti and never is.  I am hoping that they can give me an idea of what is wrong with me.  I am really worried because when I went in for a uti, which came back negative, and then was told that blood was found in my urine.  My pain has been going on almost everyday for the past 5 weeks now, and it is in my bladder area.  Thank you so much for taking the time to listen and for your questions.  I am dealing with anxiety and some depression because my quality of life is not been a good one.  I have always had uti infections since 18 so I'm thinking that my bladder has been through a lot and I'm now 36 years old.  Thanks Vanessa, and I look forward to your response.

Hi,

I understand you are worried about this. Just some questions;

Do you wake up at night to urinate?

Have you had urinalysis done in the past? If so, were they always negative?

Do you have diabetes or hypertension?

Any previous trauma, surgery or instrumentation?

Do keep us posted with your answers.
