For how long was the catheter left in place? Was there any complication post surgery? Usually the catheter is left in your bladder after the operation for a couple of days. The catheter is removed when the urine begins to run clear; this is usually within two to three days. There might be some delayed recovery as the nerves might be affected, which would take few more days to actually recover. Consult your urologist to rule out any infection, if any and if yes get proper antibiotic coverage.

How long would it usually take fot the nerves to get back to normal?
