Oral Sex with a Cold

My wife usually enjoys oral sex--me giving it to her.  Recently I had a bad cold and she declined my giving her oral sex for fear of infection.  She didn't think I would give her a cold that way, but that I might give her another kind of infection.  I don't want to hurt my wife, but can I give her some type of vaginal infection if I have a cold?

With the help of dayquill and the fact this was a getaway weekend for the two of us helped me be physically, mentally and emotionally up to the task .  It was the infection issue that raised its ugly head.

Leaving it to others to answer the infection question, I question the timing of having oral sex when one has a bad cold as you describe.  Usually the symptoms that accompany a bad cold would not be beneficial to making love in general, and would put a huge damper on the situation, whether or not infection is a factor.
