I have tried three different medications for overactive bladder - Vesicare, Detrol LA, and Flomax. The first two had no effect whatsoever, and the third had a bad effect (made it difficult to urinate). I've been through a urodynamic test, which yielded normal results except that I get urges that are too frequent and when my bladder is not really full. My doctor wants me to get a cystoscopy done, and another possible next step would be for me to go to a physical therapist and work on my pelvic floor muscles, bladder retraining, etc. My question is, is it worth it for me to try some of the other overactive bladder medications out there in the meantime, or are they all basically variations of the same thing?
