HI, FOLLOWING RECURRENT UTI'S MY UROLOGIST SUGGESTED A CYSTOSCOPY WHICH I HAD 5 DAYS AGO. HE FOUND SOME INFLAMMATION IN THE BLADDER & URETHRA AND DILATED MY URETHRA AS HE SAID IT HAD 'TIGHTENED'. ON THE DAY OF THE PROCEDURE I EXPERIENCED DYSURIA AND BLOOD LOSS, HOWEVER FROM THE DAY FOLLOWING THE PROCEDURE TO NOW, I HAVE THIS CONSTANT DISCOMFORT IN MY URETHRA. THE ONLY WAY I CAN EXPLAIN IT IS THAT IT FEELS LIKE 'SOMETHING IS STUCK THERE'. I SPOKE TO MY UROLOGIST WHO SUGGESTED THAT MY URETHRA IS ADJUSTING TO BEING DILATED, HOWEVER I'M STILL QUITE CONCERNED AS I WAS NEVER TOLD OF THIS SYMPTOM BEFORE HAVING THE CYSTOSCOPY, I WAS ONLY TOLD TO EXPECT PAIN PASSING URINE AND SOME BLOOD LOSS, AND IT HAS ALREADY BEEN 5 DAYS WITH NO IMPROVEMENT TO THIS FEELING.
JUST WANDERING IF THIS IS A NORMAL SYMPTOM POST CYST. AND HOW LONG IT SHOULD LAST? I AM WORRIED THAT SOMETHING ELSE IS GOING ON, COULD THE 'TIGHTENING' RETURN POST DILATATION, COULD THIS DISCOMFORT BE FROM SOMETHING ELSE?

Urethral discomfort can happen after a cystoscopy - but this should resolve between 4 to 7 days. There is the possibility that damage was done to the urethra, and this should be investigated if the symptoms persist past 1 week.

I had a cystoscopy 3 days ago. My symptoms since then are the normal burning sensation symptoms. However, I also have abdominal fullness. My scale shows that I have gained five pounds in just 3 days. Is this normal?
