PROSTATE PROBLEMS -- HELP!

About a month ago, I started having very severe pain in my testicles. So bad, that I went to the hospital. They were overcrowded and I saw some assistant that told me I had "some sort of general infection", and gave me antibiotics (I can't remember the name of the medicine off the top of my head, but it is the anti-biotic that is commonly used for traveler's diarrea (diarrhea)). Needless to say, a visit to the urologist quickly followed. She diagnosed me with non-bacterial postatitis within half an hour, by taking a sample of semenal fluid (extracted by messaging my prostate), quickly checking for testicle cancer, and by taking a urine sample. From what I've read so far, there is absolutely no way that she really had enough information to make this diagnosis. She took me off the other anti-biotics, put me on floxin for two weeks, and told me that I should either find a sexual partner, or begin masterbating (masturbating) twice a day, because I needed to move this fluid on through my prostate. This helped a little, because now I am able to walk around in about half of the pain that I was in. Here are my symptoms:
  *Testicle pain
*Pain on in inside of my upper legs
*Generalized light burning sensation in entire penile area (except for the penis shaft itself, which is generally painless)
*An apparently related pain in my armpits, which feels about like the pain in my upper legs.  This pain is getting worse.

I'm not experiencing any pain urinating. My testicle and leg pain is more severe in the early parts of the day than it is later at night. The doctor recommended taking ibuprofen to lessen the pain, but it doesn't help, and honestly, the only time it really goes away is after a couple of beers.
What should I do now? Does this sound like protatitis? Is there anything I can do with my diet to help (it seems like diet could affect a prostate, anyway)?

Dear Jason,
Most patients may have symptoms  that linger for weeks although the severity usually improves early on in treatment. Therefore, you should not be discouraged that your symptoms are present after one week of treatment.Your problem is a common one and patience is required with regard to relief of your symptoms. Prostatitis routinely requires longer treatment course than bladder infections or kidney infections.
Prostatitis is a very difficult disease to treat for several reasons. The prostate is a relatively protected site in the body from medications. This means that treatment of infections requires long courses of medications with very strong antibiotics. The diagnosis is made by a combination of physical examination, urine culture, and expressed seminal fluid. Non- bacterial prostatitis is a condition that has been extensively studied but not well understood. The prevailing thought at this time is that treatment for Chlamydia  with doxycycline or tetracycline may eradicate the prostatitis. I would strongly consider this modality next.
