I went to the doctor, but because i had already taken the azo pill to relieve symptoms, they had to send my urine away because it caused my urine to be discolored. I was prescribed 500 mgs of cipro for 5 days, but the doctor said i could stop at 3 days if i wanted to.... When i look online, it says that on average for uti's, 250mg should be prescribed for 3 days- what should i do?
Most importantly- is it possible that this is not a UTI but an std like chlamydia- since I am still waiting on the urine culture? If this does end up being chlymadia, how hurtful is it that i am already taking an antibiotic? what are the main differences in symptoms that generally distinguish the two? If it helps, i have had some uncomfortableness and itchiness prior to and even a little now-. I'm genearlly prone to yeast infections, and in the beginning I thought it was a mild yeast infection, but the symptoms have since changed.
I have the exact same symptoms. I thought I had a UTI with burning but that went away in a bout a day & now I just feel like I have to go all the time and a significant amount comes out but that feeling never goes away. I was tested for chlamydia a while back and was tested positive with these symptoms, took the meds but for some odd reason these symptoms just came back a few days ago. I'm not sure what I am going to do since I do not have health insurance but I would suggest getting tested for STDs, many of these symptoms are so many different things from UTIs to yeast to STDs. It is very frustrated!!! Good luck!
