Pain in the tip of the penis after running

So I went for a decently long run at a good clip the other day noticed towards the tail end of the run that I felt a sharp pain in the tip of my penis but I pushed through it to finish. After the run I checked and the very tip of my penis was very red and hurt very bad. The red around all but the urethra vanished after an hour but there is still significant pain even when just wearing underwear but also while peeing (which is my main concern). I was wearing a semi sweaty pair of compression underwear during the run. Is this just chafing or is it something more serious and are there any fixes other than time?
