Painful/blocked ejaculation

For the past year I've been having problems with my ejaculation being 'blocked'. I ejaculate but after the first burst or two I can feel the fluid just get blocked and then extreme pain shoots into my testicles. The pain can typically last for several days.

Usually if I wait a few days I can sometimes ejaculate alright but not always - lately it's been getting worse so it feels like maybe anywhere from 50% to 60% of the semen does not come out. And the amount of semen in my condom or if I masturbate, in a tissue, is very much reduced. When the semen flows normally and I can feel that it's free and clear there is no pain and a lot of fluid.

It actually started as much as 3 years ago with a slight pain seconds after ejaculating and it would go away. Then last May/June it started getting worse and worse until in July one time it was blocked altogether and it has been that way every since. There are some days or even weeks (from late March to early May) where it seemed about 90% better and I felt little pain and I thought I was free and clear but then it started up again.

I had the same problem 9 years ago and went through all the anti-biotics and anti-inflammatories, ultra-sounds, prostate ultrasounds, a camera inserted into my urethra - all to no avail. I saw a chinese herbalist who then said my prostate was swollen and gave me some herbs to take which, after 3 to 4 weeks start to markedly improve my symptoms until about 2 to 3 months later I was all fine. Those pills are not helping this time at all.

I admit I stupidly have not seen my doctor because the last time it did no good, though I have a newer and more helpful doctor now.

Are my symptoms of an infection, prostatitis, BPH, ejaculatory duct obstruction?? I'm in so much pain and depression and helplessness - I need to get help! Thank you.

Thanks for the update. I have not heard of this before & it's not what I would've expected. But that's the way it goes w/ medical conditions sometimes - it can be some type of relatively rare condition none of us have heard of. Glad to know you found a cure - that sounded very unpleasant ...

I have a feeling both of you may be experiencing prostate issues. Many of the symptoms you both describe sound like that, altho the blocked ejaculation could be something else. I would definitely recommend seeing a Urologist, though. You may need some medical tests & the expertise of someone intimately familiar with functioning of male sexual apparatus. Also wondering if the  little sphincter that controls urination & ejaculation may not be functioning correctly. Good luck to both of you, hope you find a cure for this very unpleasant set of symptoms.

Turns out I have no prostate issues. I had Pelvic Pain Syndrome which is mostly related to stress. It's condition caused by stress and involves symptoms of prostatitis and IBS.

Potential Causes of Pelvic Pain in Men
Men may have chronic pelvic pain from a number of disorders, including urinary dysfunction or irritable bowel syndrome (IBS).
What Are the Symptoms of Male Pelvic Pain?
According to the Mayo Clinic, men with prostatitis may have any of the following pain symptoms:
• pain or burning sensation when urinating (dysuria)
• pain in the abdomen, groin, or lower back
• pain in the area between the scrotum and rectum (perineum)
• pain or discomfort in the penis or testicles
• painful orgasms (ejaculations)
The pain or discomfort may be constant or it may come and go. Some men experience depression and a lower quality of life because of the pain.
Other symptoms associated with prostatitis include:
• difficulty urinating, such as dribbling or hesitant urination

If you have similar symptoms I would look into this issue. My urologist diagnosed me with it and prescribed Flomax for temporary relief, a natural anti-inflammatory blend and sent me to a local physiotherapist who specializes in treatment. I was pretty much cured a few months after my post.

She recommended I buy this book written by two urologists who discovered the issue and created a treatment plan. For a few months the physio was a starting off point but ultimately stress coping and stress relief is what helped heal me.

Im looking for the answer myself. have an enlarged prostate for the past 3 yrs and just recently began having the exact same thing happening. don't want to go to a doctor if I can reverse the problem with lifestyle changes and detoxification. I was a heavy drinker for almost 2o yrs and drug abuser. sober now for almost a yr. about 5 months ago I went on a diet drastically cutting down meats and dairy and eating lots of dark greens and fruit and have started to notice improvement with most symptons but the blocked ejaculation just started and has me very discouraged.
