Penile and forskin pain

I have slight pain on my penis glans, the bottom of the head where the forskin meets. It hurts a little whenever I touch, press or being rubbed against my pants. The glans also looked reddish. This started hurting after I masturbated a week ago. Also I had protected intercourse 3 weeks ago. I don't have any other symptoms, after some research, it seems like I have balanitis. But at the same time, can it be an std infection? Or uti?

Thanks for the reply and advise, as I said I took urine test for chlamydia and gonorrhea and it came back negative. I have been using lotrimin for a few days, and I switched over to bacitracin, been using it for a few days also. The pain seems to subside but there is still a little pain on the glans when I roll the forskin to wash. It seems like the pain comes more often when the forskin is roll over the head of the penis. It has been almost 2 weeks. Should I schedule another appointment with my doc?

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello,
This pain can be due to balanoposthitis. It may have any of multiple bacterial or fungal origins or be caused by contact dermatitides. Examination of the glans and the prepuce often reveals a red, moist macular lesion. KOH slide preparation and biopsy of the lesion are needed to confirm the diagnosis.
If there is history of any unprotected intercourse with a suspected partner then it can be due to sexually transmitted diseases like Chlamydia. Balanoposthitis is the inflammation of the foreskin and glans and can be caused by bacterial or fungal origins or by contact dermatitis.

Oral course of antibiotics is needed. In addition, please don’t use any cosmetics on the penis, instead use some topical antimicrobials like Bacitracin or Lotrimin. Also corticosteroids and topical immunosuppressants can be used but they are available under prescription. Also retract the foreskin daily and soak in warm water to clean penis and foreskin. In case the symptoms persist then please consult a urologist/dermatologist for evaluation and antimicrobials and steroids prescription.

Hope it helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing. Warm regards.

There is some slight itching but not on the area where it hurts, slight itching on my scrotum and surrounding areas But that happens time to time though. I have to mention that I said I had "protected intercourse", not unprotected. I checked with my Doc and he said my penis glans looks inflamed, he prescribed me Lotrimin for now as I also took a urine test for chlamydia and gonorrhea just in case. I have been using the cream for almost a week now but there is still some pain. I never had any pain in my penis for over a week and is worrying me that I might be infected with something else.

You most likely have ballanitis or a possibly a yeast infection. Is there any itching involved?

Since you had unprotected intercourse it is in your best interest to get it checked by a doctor. The sooner the treatment the easier it is to cure.

All the best,

Ron
