Penis Injury-Nerve Damage

The head of my penis was injured a few years ago (January 2005). My penis was caught between a toilet seat and the rim of the toilet bowl. The head of my penis was crushed and left with a contusion that took several months to go away. Today the result of that injury is nerve damage (dull throbbing pain when not in use and sharp pain when being used sexually or for urination). The only treatment that I was told about is to use a pain medication and ice packs.
Is there any other treatment or therapy for my condition? If so, What is it and what is the cost?
If not, Will it get better, stay the same, or get worse in time?

Penile trauma and nerve damage can significantly longer to heal. There is a possibility that the symptoms and damage may be long lasting.
A referral to a urologist and neurologist can help evaluate the symptoms and treatment would depend on the extent of the damage. Nerve tests such as an EMG can be considered.
I would obtain an opinion at a major academic medical center.
Followup with your personal physician is essential.
