Dr.
Thank you for the advice. I am allergic to penecillin but nothing else and as for right now, there are no enlarged nodes in the area. The rash varies in redness and scaling daily, (the scaling has not happened for a few days now) It feels almost like a rugburn would feel anywhere else on the body, but the biggest impact has been psychoIogical. I had put some moisturizing lotion on it and it appeared clear up a bit but it does not ever go away in its entirety. I will avoid the creams, etc until I see my doctor. Thanks again!
Hi.
Redness and scaling over the shaft of the penis may suggest a fungal infection, a bacterial infection, psoriatic rash and dermatitis. At this point, I would lean towards a dermatitic rash more rather than psoriasis. This may be an allergic dermatitis secondary to the soap that you have been using on the area. The skin of the glans penis is very sensitive. It lacks the thick external covering of the skin in other parts of the body. I suggest that you have this assessed by a dermatologist so that the right medication be prescribed to you. This may be something reversible if you start avoiding triggers like applying creams and lotions on the area.
Do you have any known allergies?
Any enlarged nodes in the area?
