Penis pain after 2nd ejaculation

I'm 39 years old.  A couple of years ago, I started having penis pain after ejaculation.  It's a pain that is felt throughout the whole penis, like a sore muscle.  It is especially bad if I try to have an orgasm twice in one day, or even two days in a row. After ejaculation, my penis goes back to it's flaccid state but for a few hours seems even smaller than normal and somewhat firm.  The pain kind of comes and goes for about 4 hours with the peak of pain about an hour after ejaculation. Another strange thing is that if I ejaculate right before bed, I will sometimes wake up around 4am with a painful erection that won't go down right away.  Another odd thing I've noticed lately is that if I have sex in the morning hours, there is often no pain afterwards.  But sex in the evening hours almost always leads to pain afterwards even it has been several days since the last time.

Yes, I'm getting older and I can't expect to perform like a teenager but I'm sure this isn't normal.  I've scoured the internet for clues but only found one or two posts in other forums from years ago that sounded similar but there were no explanations.

Also, this condition seemed to begin when I was taking the drug propanolol (Inderal) for irregular heart beats and palpatations I was having.  I only took it for a couple months.

Ideas anyone?  Remedies?  This is quite a drag and it has been affecting my libido because I don't want to feel the pain.

Thanks.

Hey Michael, how're you doing now? I know it has really been a long time since you posted this but do you still experience the symptoms? I'm 22 and experiencing these exact symptoms stated above. Your response will highly be appreciated!

You've commented on a lot of really old threads. To get your own answers, you should create your own post. Many of these people haven't posted in years. :(

Greetings man, how's the condition now? Have you managed to find any cure yet?

A simple trick that eased this pain for me was after ejaculating. I would  place my penis in warm/ hot water for a minute or two and this would get rid of the pain right way!

This is insane, I have had the same issue that you speak of almost exactly ever since i can remember (I am only 28 years old now) I just randomly had it again and decided to look it up and found this.. that's some great advice, I've never been to a doctor for it but funny enough I have been doing the emptying trick for quite some time now as I noticed that it (usually) helps, but not always, and so I thought perhaps it might be something different. I should mention that I have also practiced similar sort of tantric sex as you say and masturbation. It must be related to some extent because I notice that the majority of the time I have this problem still return is in cases where I either masturbate or have sex multiple times in a row and very short time-frame. I suppose maybe it's not worth the pain and I should reconsider doing so in the future.. anyways goodluck and thank you.

Michael, the answer you gave makes sense. I have tried draining left over sperm which have helped. I will try again and will come back with the results. I just turned 50 and have had this same problem for more than 30 years; you can imagine the number of  Urologist visits I have had over the years; sadly none have been able to give me an answer. I have had the scope in my penis twice (second time very painful), given various ointments, told that it may be physiological, recommended to use pump, have had the the prostate test more times than I can count, but still no answer.

Here's an update folks, I think I've found the answer:

I went to a urologist who prescribed Septra after hearing my symptoms and doing a prostate exam. (It was painful when he pushed firmly on my prostate) After 10 days on Septra I developed a rash on my palms and neck so I had to stop taking it. I didn't notice any improvement in that time. He then prescribed Cipro but I read scary stuff about that one and chose not to take it. I wasn't convinced this was prostate related anyway. My libido began to suffer due to the fear of pain, and I experimented with various supplements, even the broccoli juice protocol. Ugh! Nothing worked. Since then I have frequently scoured the internet looking for an answer to my problem but found little information. Last week I found a thread in a forum with guys who had similar sounding symptoms, some of them in my age range, others just teenagers. One of them had the answer. I didn't believe it when I read it but now I believe it's true. Basically the pain is caused by semen being left behind in the shaft. The solution is to make sure all the semen comes out after the ejaculation. I suggest letting your penis go flaccid after sex and then squeezing out every last drop as if you're emptying a tube of toothpaste. As I mentioned, I also get a deeper ache, not just in the penis. I discovered if I started this emptying process on the perineum (just in front of the anus) and glided my fingers all the way to the tip of the penis (maintaining pressure while passing between the testicles) I could remove several more drops that were hiding. This greatly improved my symptoms! Another good idea is to drink some water right before sex so that you will urinate shortly after so as to clean out the urethra.

I'm posting this to help anyone else out there who might be dealing with these types of symptoms and frustrated that there aren't any answers. I plan to re post this on multiple forums/sites.

Theory: I think I may have brought this condition on myself. For many years before this problem started, I practiced some Tantric techniques to achieve multiple orgasms. I would stop stroking right before ejaculating, then start again, over and over and over. I would also purposely relax all the muscles in the area right as I was starting to ejaculate.  I think this may have permanently altered the normal functioning of my ejaculations.

One of the guys on the other thread had a theory that masturbating while sitting upright in a chair (while watching porn on the computer) might be causing this problem in others. He also thought that the pain itself was caused by the left over semen hardening inside the urethra. I really don't know. Maybe we have a low level prostate infection and the bacteria is irritating the insides?

In any case, please post a reply if any of this has helped you, and also if you have any ideas or theories yourself.
