Pimple On Penis Glans(glands)

This morning I just noticed a small very light pink pimple on the glans (glands) of my penis.  It just appeared in the last day or so.  I am a 35 year old jewish circumcised male, married, and faithful.  She has no STD's because she was just tested by her doctor before she had a miscarriage and we are faithful to each other.

I'm a little bit of a worrier and looked it up on the internet and saw "penis cancer" and freaked out.  Sometimes the internet can be a bad place to go for info.  I realize I don't fit the profile but I am worried.  The pimple is very small.  We also have not been able to have sex because of her miscarriage so we mutually masturbated and I used a petroleum based lubricant on myself.  I've used it many times in the past but I've never had a pimple before.

I'm not looking for a diagnosis...but should I make an appointment with my GP now?

Tough to give a diagnosis without seeing the lesion.  The possible causes can include various types of STDs.  I would consider being testing for gonorrhea and chlamydia, and possibly herpes.

If any of the tests are positive, then appropriate antibiotics or antivirals may be indicated.

If there is concern about penile cancer - you can consider an ultrasound.

You may want to discuss these options with your personal physician or in conjunction with a dermatology or urology consult.

Followup with your personal physician is essential.
