Posible yeast issue?

Ever since my wife and I have been together (10 years) she has suffered from occasional vaginal yeast infections. Over the past 2 years, they have gotten a lot worse. She says she never had this problem before we got together. Her Doctor (gynecologist) wants me to have some sort of culture of the inside of my penis. I haven't ever had any kind of symptom related to male yeast infection. Am I the source of her problems? Can this be determined with this test? Even if they find that I am causing it, can't it just come back after I am treated?
