Possible thrombosis in tip of penis

by irishinnj72, Aug 31, 2009 08:11PM
I have a black small dot on the tip of my penis on the left side of the external urethral orifice which makes the tip look bruised. If I open the tip and look down the hole I can see the black vein that comes up the left side to that dot. This bruising tends to come and go, sometimes I don't see it at all and the skin looks fine.  Other times the black dot and vein are very obvious and there is a slight tingling feeling in that area.  Is this a form of thrombosis and what can be done about it?

Hi,
Thrombosis of the superficial veins of the penis is known as Mondor’s disease. This condition is usually painful which can be mild. The treatment is basically some anti-inflammatories. If the black spot due to the thrombosis disappears, then I don’t believe there’s anything serious. Please do consult a urologist for the same. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care.
