Prep for surgery

I was informed that cancer was in the prostate and elected for robatic surgery.  Was preped and given a seditive.  The surgon was unable to insert the catheter.    They tried for a hour and was unable to complete the process and I feel they were a little more than agressive.  My question as I did not have a cat scan or exray  is it normal to assume the catheter can be inserted in all cases?

A catheter should be able to be inserted, except in cases of obstruction - which can happen during cases of prostate cancer.

Cystoscopy can be considered to determine the extent of the obstruction.

Normally, a CT scan is done for cases of prostate cancer to determine any evidence of spread.
