Prolonged Erection and Penis Issues

by NextDB, Mar 02, 2007 12:00AM
Two weeks ago I sustained a prolonged erection (naturally through mental stimulation)I did not rub or create any prolonged friction or masterbate during the long erection, but I did allow my penis to stay hard for a prolonged amount of time(with breaks)Eventually the penis began to feel somewhat of a swollen type of feeling and finished with a quick masterbation (masturbation). After the erection did go down as normal, but the shaft(mostly the sides)did feel alittle harder than normal (nothing extreme, just alittle stiffer and maybe swollen)There was no real discomfort or pain or anything of that nature, it just kind of felt alittle tight and alittle swollen.I didnt touch it for two weeks and did not masterbate for two weeks, and it seemed to get better and improve, and yesterday I masterbated, taking about 30-40minutes to masterbate, again with no physical contact until the end, when i finished. There was some discomfort and a pain that was felt during the orgasm, that went away.I made myself *** quickly one more time about an hour later, and the orgasm felt normal. At first, I had a slight discomfort/pain, go through the head of the penis that went away and hasnt come back.I feel ok now, with no pain or discomfort, but It does feel like the shaft is alittle firm in its flacid state and there seems to be some new veins, one that is pretty large, sticking out on the side. There not hard or painful, but you can move them and touch them and they do somewhat stand out. What is recomended?how long should I not masterbate or get hard for? do you think i have done anything that wont heal?

Infection should be ruled out - this can be done with a urethral swab and urine tests looking for a UTI or STDs.  The prostate should also be evaluated via a digital rectal exam.

The penile veins can be evaluated with an ultrasound to rule out thrombosis (i.e. clotting).

If the tests continue to be negative, anatomical abnormalities of the urethra (i.e. a stricture or polyp) can be evaluated with a cystoscopy.

These options can be discussed with your personal physician, or in conjunction with a urologist.

Followup with your personal physician is essential.
