Prostate cancer

My PSA in July was 1.2. I went yesterday and it was 7.8. My Urologist did a very long digital exam and said I have a small hard nodule on the left side. I have had two other biophys done in the last two years which were negative and the digital exam was negative. I am going to get another one the end of November. My question could this be real serious?

Hi there!

Though slightly elevated PSA levels may be seen with infections/ inflammations; with a palpable lump it is better to get a biopsy done to be on the safer side.

Take care!
