Prostate problems

  i have been going ot a urologist for almost a year now. They went in with a scope and stretched my urethra near the bladder, they also did dilitation and stretched the urethra. A lot of my problems subsided but then i had a lot of urgency and frequency. I took a lot of antibiotics such as doxycycline, sulf trim, minocycline, levaquin, oxybutynin, and cephalexin.i was also on ditropan and  urispas for the urgency. I finally got all this cleared up when i was hit with a prostate infection. I was tested for std's and they found nothing. That is when he put me on minocycline which seemed to help but i had to stop taking it because i had an allergic reaction to it. It made the left side of my body get numb and my penis also got numb. I did finally get some better but now the symptoms are starting to come back. I went back to the doctor and he checked me and said he finds nothing wrong with me. What should i do?

It sounds like you have a stricture  ( a narrowing ) of the urethra which required dilation. and then began having lower urinary tract  symptoms. A UTI can not be diagnosed unless you have a urine culture which is positive.  A positive culture usually returns with the organism identified and the antibiotics the bacteria is sensitive too.  From the number of antibiotics and other meds you were on  without relief it sounds like you may have had non bacterial prostatitis.  This diagnosis is poorly understood and does not usually respond to antibiotics.  I would use the site search function and look up  the many forms of prostatitis , diagnosis and treatment.
