Prostatitis and oral sex

I'm a 31 year old male. About 2.5 years ago, I received unprotected oral from a promiscuous woman (dumb I know). Soon after that, I was diagnosed with prostatitis.

Shortly after that I got a new girlfriend, and yes, we have engaed in unprotected vaginal intercourse. Soon after, she began to feel an "iirritation". She was later diagnosed with a bacterial infection, but the irritation continues every once in awhile.

Is there a chance that prostatitis can be caused by receiving unprotected oral sex?And if so, could I pass any kind of infection to a new partner?

Considering my sexual history, is any of the above linked, or am I just being paranoid?

It may be possible to obtain prostatitis from oral sex.  I would be tested via a urine test or urethral swab for STDs - specifically gonorrhea and chlamydia.

Further evaluate of the prostate can be done with an ultrasound or prostatic massage.  Any fluid that is expressed can be sent off to the lab for culture and analysis.

These options can be discussed with your personal physician.

Followup with your personal physician is essential.
