Can you tell me if the insertion of testicle prosthesis can be done as an out
  patient?
If now, how long is the hospital stay usually?
  Thanks....

Dear Jose:
Thanks for your question.
The procedure can be done as an outpatient.  Full recovery is estimated in about 2 weeks.  The scrotum is dependent and can swell quickly if you try to over do it to soon.  Unfortunately,  testicular implants are not available in the US because they are made of Silicone and the makers would have very high liability insurance to pay because of all the litigious attention the silicone breast implants have had.  Currently, we are not aware of a manufacturer in this country that plans on reintroducing testicular prostheses.

More individualized care is available at the Henry Ford Hospital and its satellites (1 800 653 6568).
Good Luck.
