Prothiaden problem.

Doc,
I took half a 25mg capsule of Prothiaden (dothiepin), that is ALL I took. As a result I am sexually dsyfunctional. By 'sexually dysfunctional' I mean difficulty getting and maintaining erections.
I know that trycyclics can cause nerve damadge but I am told this is only possible if the drug is taken at high doses over a long period of time which is obviously not the case. Can you confirm this?
I am also told that Prothiaden has upset other systems in my body and things will return to normal over time, however its been six months and no changes. What is wrong?
I want to make it clear that this problem is not psychological. I am depressed and have been open and willing to trying new drugs. I always stop though once the 'side effect' kicks in. None have ever been this bad and lasted this long. I want to know if and when it will go away?
I am not currently on any other medications.
I am only 23.
Any answers you can give me would be very much appreciated.

There are some cases of tricyclics leading to erectile dysfunction. It is unlikely that this can happen after a single dose.
You can look for other causes of sexual dysfunction. This can include imaging (i.e. an ultrasound) to look for vascular issues as well as blood tests looking for testosterone deficiency.
These options can be discussed with your personal physician.
Followup with your personal physician is essential.
