Question regarding urethral dilation

I am looking for some answers on urethral dilation. When I was around 3 years old I had to have surgery to widen my urethra tube. I was having recurring UTI's and having accidents and wetting the bed. I can't seem to find much information on this condition. From what I have found, I believe it is more common in males and rare in females.
I appreciate your help!

As a child I heard I had "trouble peeing" so my urethra was widened when I wasd 4 years old. I guess they did it too much because after that I never had any feeling when I had to go pee and would have wetting accidents and wet my bed all the time. My mom just put diapers back on me and I was in them from ages 4 until like 8 and lived with someone else after her.

Urethral dilations used to be super popular according to my URO but are not used as much now unless they have to.  He will do a dilation but tries everything else first.  One of the reasons they do it is if the urethra is too narrow!  To do them their are about 10 rods of increasing size put into the urethra to gradually stretch it.  It can be pretty painful esp in the hands of an uncaring physician.

Mine is very compassionate and will stop with the patient can't tolerate it any more.  I have to have them about once a year!  I get severe urethral pain and for me it appears the glands in there get full of stuff, the dilation pushes it out of the glands!  I take a relaxant before hand, or pain meds, he uses lidocaine during the procedure and they I put ice down there right afterward. This makes a huge difference!

Hope that helps!
